Nancy Elliott

Nancy Elliott is an experienced legal and business professional with a strong record of leadership, strategic insight, and people-focused service. She is the founder of Elliott Immigration Corporation, a Canadian immigration consulting firm that specializes in complex and high-stakes matters. Drawing on over two decades of legal experience, Nancy established the company to offer modern, efficient, and thoughtful guidance to individuals and organizations navigating Canada’s immigration system.

As a lawyer for over 25 years, Nancy led Elliott Law Professional Corporation, where she represented a broad range of clients in immigration matters involving permanent and temporary residence, enforcement proceedings, appeals, and litigation before the Federal Court of Canada. In addition to her legal practice, she oversaw all aspects of business operations, including team leadership, strategic planning, and client relations.

Nancy has also contributed at the board level, serving for more than a decade on the board of directors of Smart Employee Benefits (SEB), a publicly listed healthcare technology company, prior to its acquisition by Cooperators Insurance. During her tenure, she chaired the Governance, Human Resources, and Compensation Committee, playing a key role in oversight and policy development.

A primary focus for Nancy has been her work empowering youth and women. She has trained extensively in self defence and is certified to teach a range of programs for adults, youth, and women. She focuses on practical, scenario-based methods and emphasizes both competence and confidence in her instruction. She also designs and leads fitness and conditioning sessions with an approach that balances discipline and enjoyment. She currently conducts workshops, and multi-week programs in empowered self defence training for companies, community organizations, schools and other groups, teaching women and youth awareness, confidence and the real techniques to defend against violence when de-escalation does not work. Her approach is science-based and data-driven, focusing on proven mental and practical training.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies from the University of Toronto. She has also studied Mandarin in Beijing and Taipei and completed certification courses in exempt markets and corporate governance. She has trained in various martial arts and extensively in krav maga.

Her skills include strategic leadership, agility, complex problem-solving, empathy, and non-judgement. She is interested in technology, science, art, reading, nature, politics, health and sports. Nancy is known for her ability to solve problems and take action, her resourceful nature, and ability to engage with people across a wide range of settings with professionalism and very good humour.
